Weight loss may refer to the loss of total body mass in an effort to improve fitness, health and appearance.

Many sources also cite mental and emotional health as an important part of overall fitness. This is often presented in textbooks as a triangle made up of three sub-sections which represent physical, emotional, and mental fitness.

Health & fitness advocate launches new website and promotes unusual exercise program

June 10, 2004 -- New Haven Missouri resident, Jeff Consiglio, is on a mission. A syndicated health & fitness writer, Consiglio, describes his mission as “Revealing fitness myths, debunking weight-loss scams and exposing financially-biased health misinformation.”

“I don’t always tell people what they want to hear,” says Jeff, “but I do tell them what they need to hear. I’m more concerned with getting people results than giving them a ‘warm fuzzy’ feeling inside.”

To support his mission Jeff recently launched a new website, “Health-and-Fitness-News.com.”

Says Jeff, “One of my main motivations in starting this site is to expose the financially biased health misinformation I see being sold as “fact” to the general public. Too many people are being misled by information that appears objective, but is often slanted toward the most profitable point of view - not the most scientifically accurate.”

Jeff also uses Health-and-Fitness-News.com as a promotional platform for his unconventional “Maximum Impact” exercise program, which requires just one workout per week.

“Because my exercise program requires only one workout per week, people are often skeptical,” says Jeff. “And I don’t blame them. After all, this isn’t the kind of thing you hear about every day. But I’ve been known to turn hard core skeptics, who give my system an honest try, into believers. People are busy these days. And busy people get excited when they realize they can achieve a high degree of physical fitness without a huge investment of time. After all, who wants to spend half their life in a gym?”

Jeff is quick to point out that his unique exercise program does have a catch. “Although my program doesn’t require frequent workouts, it does require hard work. But if you’re willing to push your personal limits, whether you’re young or old, this system will give you the results you desire.”

Health-and-Fitness-News.com also outlines Jeff’s approach to diet. “My diet philosophy is really simple,” says Jeff. “I advise people to eat whole, natural foods 80% of the time. The other 20% of the time they can eat what they want as long as they’re not gluttonous about it.”

Jeff says his ‘80/20' rule provides dieters with a plan they can live with. “It’s all about long term compliance,” says Jeff. “You can set people up to fail with a diet that’s overly rigid. As long as a person eats right 80% of the time, they’re going to
get great results in terms of weight control and overall health”
